With age-appropriate activities for newborns, infants and crawlers, this parent-child music and movement class will help you strengthen those early parent-child bonds, understand your baby’s development, and heavily focus on child development and communication with your baby. You and your baby will enjoy instrument play, dance, exploration time, and together time—and you’ll get expert advice and parenting resources based on the most recent research in baby development.
Level 1: For 1 to 2 years
Get ready to sing, play, and move with your little one in this high-energy music class designed to be just right for very young children. This new Kindermusik curriculum focuses on your child's beginning movement, helping to build the muscles your young toddler needs to walk, run, and climb; and on vocal development, helping to nurture your child's speaking and singing voice. With a mix of both parent-child joint activities and child-focused activities, you’ll be able to join right in on all the singing and dancing while also getting the chance to observe how your young toddler learns on his or her own. Embark on Kindermusik’s fun new exploration of singing, swaying, laughing, and playing through Level 1, a just-right mix of early-childhood vocal play and language development, together time, and music and movement activities!
Level 2: For Children 2 to 3 Years
For your toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world around him. Despite your toddler’s seeming independence, he still longs for the safety and security of parental closeness. During this time, your toddler still relishes the comfort of the familiar while also seeking the challenge of something new.
Kindermusik's Level 2 encourages her to be creative, to initiate her own ideas and to respond in her own ways, while your active participation gives her the security she needs. As you play instruments, sing, move, and explore, you’ll uncover an engaging musical world while building your child’s confidence, self-control and communications skills.
Level 3: For Children 3 and 4 Years
His blanket becomes a superhero’s cape. A cardboard box doubles as her princess castle. Pots and pans become a drum set. And she sings all the time. Sound like someone you know? Every day brings a new discovery as your preschooler slowly opens the doors of individuality and independence.
Using the power of music, Kindermusik’s Level 3 class taps into your preschooler’s creative spirit and boundless energy and focuses on developing his learning strengths and self-confidence so he’ll be ready for school, prepared for future music lessons…or able to leap tall buildings.
Levels 4 & 5: For Children 5 to 6 Years
*Must be 5 or turning 5 sometime in the fall for level 5 class.
Using a small-group approach to music education, these classes provide a pressure-free class where your child can develop a strong musical foundation by learning the concepts, language, notation, and vocabulary of music and its greatest composers.
The program is designed to prepare the young child who is eager for first experiences with musical symbols and instrument discovery but is not yet ready for formal lessons and traditional music reading with an instrument. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to attend the last few minutes of class to hear what we worked on in class that day as well as hear the homework assignment for the week.
*Level 4 is required before enrolling in Level 5.
